Second Alex's comment. Also, I had grey smoke and very black exhaust tips on my car, could also smell gas in the oil when changing it. I was advised that didn't mean it was nessesarily running pig rich, I would have to get it on a dyno with a wideband O2 sensor to know for sure. Well, I haven't done that yet, but I did delete the EGR and AIV's and the assoiated solenoids and vacuum lines. Cleaned up the engine bay and ditched a rats nest of vacuum lines with tees. I just got back from over 10 hours of traveling and the tips are not blackened at all, and I don't see the grey smoke at idle anymore. Boost leak test, boost leaks will make the car run rich, that may be your issue. I did a boost leak test myself and it checked out okay, as far as I could tell, so I suspect there were many small leaks in several places in amongst the many lines and tee's that I removed.
